It's that time of year again when we all get the chance to reflect on the year that's past, consider the year ahead, and to contemplate the true "reason for the season". Yes, it's Christmas time, the time when western nations (and some others) celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, through the coming together of families, the exchange of presents, and the eating of feasts.
I truly hope that all of my Beat the Slots blog readers have a very Merry Christmas! For some of us, Christmas is a wonderful time filled with fun, love, and excitement. I always remember however that for some Christmas is just another day, or a day filled with sadness (remembering loved ones that have passed on), or stress (and domestic violence), or just sheer poverty and depression. Have you had a winning year? Consider donating some of those winnings to your favourite charity. Have you got spare food after the Christmas Day meals? Consider the age-old Boxing Day tradition and box up food to take to your nearest homeless shelter.
However you spend your Christmas season, may it be a time filled with love, with joy, with peace, and with friends and family. Have a great Christmas everyone!
